Successful Operations for our Bangladeshi projects

2 LNG Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRU) projects are currently being executed offshore Moheshkhali Island, located in Cox’s Bazar District in the south-east of Bangladesh.

The following operations have been successfully completed during the past few weeks:

  • Onshore facilities

To support the construction activities, GEOCEAN has erected onshore temporary facilities, including a wharf, living quarters for the personnel, and working platform for the pipelines pulling.

A manifold designed against tsunami has been installed and connected to the pipeline section laid offshore.

  • Pipelines successful shore pull

Both pipelines have been laid from the Protis barge (anchored inside a 2km long channel specifically dredged for the project), and pulled onshore using a 500T linear winch.

A total of 13km have been laid and post-trenched between shore and 40m water depth.

  • PLEM, PAD & Suction Piles installation

All the items relevant to the mooring and connection systems have been deployed and installed successfully.

In total, from than 1000T of subsea structures have been installed.
