🎬 MARINE XII : AN OFFSHORE PROJECT NOW FULLY COMPLETED- SEE PHOTOS OF THE INSTALLATION OF THE FLNG MOORING SYSTEM
In partnership with Wison New Energies, Geocean carried out the transport and installation of the FLNG mooring system off the coast of Pointe Noire, Republic of the Congo (33 m water depth).
The teams installed the driven anchor piles, the submerged Swivel & Yoke (SSY), and the flexible riser, performing all drilling, grouting, and subsea connection operations with high precision. The infrastructure is now fully installed and ready for the FLNG hook-up.
Through this operation, Geocean ensures the stability and reliability of the FLNG Marine XII mooring system, directly contributing to the success of the country’s first floating liquefaction project.
With the release of the project summary film, Geocean offers a visual retrospective of a major technical achievement, emblematic of its expertise in complex offshore environments.

Critical infrastructure at the heart of the LNG chain
The Marine XII project involves the installation of a Submerged Swivel & Yoke (SSY) mooring system, designed to:
- hold an FLNG unit in position in demanding offshore conditions
- ensure a secure connection between the subsea installations and the floating unit
- enable the production and export of liquefied natural gas
This infrastructure is a strategic link in the LNG chain, where the reliability and precision of installation directly determine the overall performance of the system.
A highly technical offshore operation
Carried out at 33 metres depth and 17 kilometres from the coast, the project involved complex operations:
- installation of offshore anchor piles
- installation of a template and a subsea base
- drilling and grouting operations
- installation of connection systems (risers)
This work required:
- heavy marine equipment
- close coordination between engineering and operations
- management of environmental and meteorological constraints
In this type of project, precision in execution is crucial: each component must be positioned with extreme accuracy to ensure the long-term integrity of the system.
A demonstration of the Geocean
Marine XII model directly illustrates Geocean’s positioning:
- operating in critical interface zones between the sea and energy infrastructure
- offering integrated and bespoke solutions
- managing the entire EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation) chain
This approach ensures:
- overall project coherence
- reduced operational risks
- controlled execution in challenging environments
This integrated model is a key driver for the success of complex offshore projects.
A project addressing energy challenges
The Marine XII project is part of a broader initiative:
- development of offshore gas resources
- accelerating production through FLNG solutions
- contributing to energy security
In this context, the ability to deliver reliable infrastructure within controlled timeframes is a key differentiator.
