Transitional energy: your turnkey gas terminal projects
In the context of energy transition aiming to reduce carbon footprints, having an LNG terminal at sea makes the supply of cleaner energy compared to other fossil fuels possible.
Geocean designs and installs gas terminal projects by mooring a vessel (FSRU, FLNG) and connecting it to land via a subsea flow line (including a sea/land crossing if required) with all necessary interfaces.
Our offshore solutions are based on 40 years of solid international experience. Geocean executes bespoke solutions based on customers’ needs, from feasibility to turnkey implementation or Transport and installation (T&I) mode for shallow water projects.
Our two liquefied natural gas terminal solutions
Complying with environmental and time constraints for optimal costs, Geocean can deliver two distinct technical configurations that offer maximum flexibility and safety for export and import terminals.
Principle of the FSRU
- Barge
- FSRU (Floating Storage & Regasification Unit)
- PLUG
- Mooring line
- Suction piles
- PAD
- Flexible riser
- PLEM (Pipeline End Manifold)
- Pipeline
Floating terminal moored at sea
Solutions include complex systems such as Disconnectable Turret Mooring (DTM), Submerged Turret Loading (STL), and Submerged Swivel Yoke Mooring (SSYM). Those subsea infrastructure include pipelines, flexible risers, and subsea structures such as umbilicals and Pipeline End Manifolds (PLEM).
Unloading terminal with mooring dolphins system
Adapted to sheltered areas, this system can be installed with or without a jetty. It includes risers or loading arms, spools, and a submarine or aerial pipeline system.
From LNG terminals to hydrogen, ammonia and CO₂ terminals
H₂, NH₃ and CO₂ terminals answer climate and energy challenges. Would you like to invest in an hydrogen, ammonia or carbon dioxide export terminal?
Geocean can implement an import or export terminal for gas or liquefied products by the applicable standards. We will be with you every step of the way, from the definition of your project to its implementation.
To choose Geocean for your gas terminal,
means opting for a turnkey project, managed by a team capable of…
Integrating flow line crossings through the coastline
mastering shallow water work in complex environments
deploy specialised barges specifically adapted to the project
rapidly deliver an infrastructure providing access to energy
Our achievments
Are you considering a project for an offshore LNG, H₂, CO₂ or NH₃ terminal? We are keen to show you what our teams can deliver and support you throughout the complete offshore project that will fully meet your needs. See below for examples of offshore terminals that have already proven their worth.
